Parameters Importance

WAVELENGTH- the 980 nm wavelength have certain importance over 810 & 940nm wavelength used in diode lasers, This wavelength is absorbed in 70% water which allows us to high absorption of radiant energy in tissue.

  • 1. The fiber does not need any initiation before using it.
  • 2. Other chromophores for absorption are haemoglobin & oxy haemoglobin
  • 3. Works on radiant energy
  • 4. No collateral thermal damage
  • 5. No charring of tissue

Frequency

  • 1. The frequency used is 20,000hz
  • So the pulses can be shorted in 25micro seconds ton and toff time
  • The laser used with super pulse technology
  • The laser when used in pulse mode will do very superficial cutting in ton time
  • Toff time is called thermal relaxation time(energy get dissipated)
